This easy, delicious crumble is a great way to use your apple hoard! With is sweet, caramelized apple filling and crumbly topping, this is sure to be a crowd pleaser.
Apple Crumble (8 servings)
Ingredients
Crumble Topping
1 C all purpose flour
3/4 C brown sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 C butter, melted
Filling
2 1/2 lbs (about 6-7 C) apples, peeled, cored, and sliced or diced
1/2 C sugar
1 T lemon juice
2 T corn starch
1/2 salt
1 tsp ground cinnamon
Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Spray an 8-9 inch baking dish with cooking spray.
In a medium bowl, combine all dry crumble topping ingredients; whisk to combine. Add melted butter and stir with a fork until crumbly texture forms. Set aside.
In a large bowl, combine all filling ingredients; mix well, then transfer apple mixture to prepared baking dish and spread into an even layer.
Sprinkle crumble topping evenly over apple filling.
Bake for 35-45 minutes until filling is bubbling and crumble is golden brown.
Let cool for at least 15 minutes before serving. Serve with ice cream if desired. Enjoy!
