Cheesy Hot Beef Sandwiches

We love a good sloppy Joe in our house, but sometimes we want something less sweet and more savory and, dare I say, CHEESY! This can be an easy weeknight meal or a great party or potluck entree!

Cheesy Hot Beef Sandwiches (6 servings)

Ingredients

  • 6 hoagie rolls

  • 2 Tablespoons olive oil

  • 1 lb ground beef

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped

  • 2 teaspoons steak seasoning, or blend of seasonings of your choice

  • 1 green bell pepper, finely chopped

  • 1 clove garlic, minced

  • 1 10.5 oz can of cream of mushroom soup

  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce

  • salt and pepper, to taste

  • 1-2 cups cheddar cheese, grated

Directions

  1. Heat oil in a skillet over medium high heat. Add the ground beef and chopped onion and sauté for 7-10 minutes, until beef is browned and onion are translucent. Sprinkle in steak seasoning and stir to combine.

  2. Add bell pepper and garlic, then cook for 3 minutes. Add cream of mushroom soup and Worcestershire sauce, then season with salt and pepper. Stir and cook for 5 minutes.

  3. Turn off the heat, then add 1 1/2 cups of cheddar cheese. Stir to melt. Add more cheese if desired (we like it cheesy, so we always add more!).

  4. Slice hoagie rolls in half lengthwise without cutting through all the way (if hoagies are not already pre-sliced). Spoon cheesy beef into rolls. Serve and enjoy!
